Imphal witnesses panic petrol buying

Imphal, October 20 2015:
Imphal witnessed panic buying at all fuel stations on Tuesday after Kuki People's Liberation Front/Army (KPLF/A) announced to impose economic blockade along National Highways from October 21 to 31 to push for its demands.
All petrol pumps witnessed heavy rush of people who were seen standing in long queues to buy fuel.
Many of the panic buyers were dismayed with the retail outlets as they did not get fuel though they were waiting in queue.

Sources in Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Imphal said the current stock position of petrol is 1529 KL, 3540 KL of diesel, 2722 KL of kerosene, 525.17 MT of LPG and 475 KL of ATF.
They said the stock will last for 12 days.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held in the office chamber of DGP of Manipur Police on Tuesday in view of the economic blockade threat by KPLF/A.The outfit has also threatened to enforce an indefinite economic blockade along the highways from November 2 if its demands are not met by the State Government.
Official sources informed that the meeting discussed about security arrangement and other measures to be taken up for transporters including oil tankers during the proposed strike.
