AR installs solar street lights in Malom

Imphal, December 10 2018:
Tulihal Battalion of HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) installed and handed over ten solar street lights at Malom today.
The street lights were dedicated on the request of Malom Gram Panchay at as part of the 'Operation Sadbhavana Project'.
The Battalion on receiving request for installation of solar lights in its monthly security meet, provided and installed the lights in each of the wards of Malom Gram Panchayat.
The street lights will certainly address the security concerns of the area, conveyed a statement of AR, IGAR South.
The inaugural programme witnessed the attendance of over 150 villagers of Malom during which Brigadier Amit Kabthiyal, Sena Medal, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles officially handed over the solar street lights to the Pradhan of Malom Gram Panchayat.
While praising the efforts of Tulihal Battalion, Brigadier Kabthiyal assured the villagers that Assam Rifles will continue to work for welfare of the people.
Two ex-servicemen of the Indian Army were also felicitated by Brigadier Kabthiyal during the event.
The villagers of Malom appreciated the Battalion for the commendable initiative and said that this gesture would go a long way in cementing the bond between the people and the forces.
Provision of solar lights is one among the many initiatives taken up by the Tulihal Battalion, who spearheaded the flood relief operations in the Imphal Valley in June this year for which it was felicitated by the Governor.
The Battalion also plans to carry out more projects for betterment of the people in the near future.
The villagers conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to the Assam Rifles and the Army for the kind gesture, thereby reaffirming the faith of the people in the Force.
