Free medical camp under PMSMA scheme conducted at Jiribam

A free medical camp was held today in Jiribam at its only 50 bedded hospital situated at Uchathol Jiribam under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) Scheme in which specialist volunteers visited the hospital and examined the condition of various pregnant women in the camp.
The camp was attended by S Shanti Devi, Chairperson Jiribam Municipal Council (JMC), Jiribam; Dr Ch Manglem, retd HOD, OBG, RIMS Imphal; Dr Indrakumar, HOD, OBG, JNIMS, Imphal; Dr Nabakanta Sharma, Volunteer, PMSMA; Dr Mina Seram, Deputy Director cum SNO Maternal Health; O Oken Singh, CMO, 50 Bedded hospital, Jiribam; and Brajabidhu, DDK, Imphal as presidium members.

Regarding the camp, the presidium members informed that such programme will be held on the 9th of every month and on the next day if it falls on Sundays under PMSMA scheme.
The scheme was initiated by PM Narendra Modi in 2016 and started implementing in Manipur in August 2016.The motto of the scheme is keep the mothers healthy in order to make the child healthy and sound.
They also appreciated the voluntary work of specialists doctors who have spared their precious time to look after the pregnant women.
