133 VPT and 53 DSPT in Tml district

Tamenglong, May 19 2011: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd(BSNL)Tamenglong has issued 133 Village Public Telephone(VPT) where there is no telephone landline connection in far flung villages of Tamenglong and another 53 Digital Satellite Public Telephone, DSPT where there is no mobile and MLL network in far flung villages of Tamenglong district, of Manipur.

This was stated by Ch Tomba Meitei, TTA, BSNL Tamenglong in the afternoon session of the three day Bharat Nirman Campaign organized by PIB Imphal at Indoor Stadium Tamenglong.

He said BSNL Tamenglong has nine BTS with 3000 call and received capacity.

The department has issued 1000 WLLs and also provided 480 telephone landlines connection to the district.

To provide better services to the people, laying of OFC from Khongsang to Tamenglong via Tamei has completed and it is going.

He also appeals all to give full cooperation to provide better communication in the district.

Speaking on the occasion Thaingam Kamei, SDO BNSL Tamenglong said that due to rain many works are remained incomplete.

The department has face untold hardship due irregularity of electricity in the district and during bandh, blockade and fuel scarcity in the state, he added.

He said due to lack of manpower and frequent break down of machines the lone communication system.

BSNL Tamenglong could not satisfy the customers.

More BTS are planned to come up and he also urged full cooperation from the local people.

As part of Bharat Nirman Campaign a mass rally also march from Thingkham Square, Tamenglong to campaign complex with banner and placards.

The placard read quality health to rural people, connectivity with the rest of the world, full farm to market connectivity, universal elementary education, right to work, transparency and accountability to the governance, repair and renovate and restore water bodies, electrify all villages, nutrition ad learning opportunity for young children and consume iodise salt.
