SOREPA to begin drive against drug trade

Imphal, July 11 2024: The Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak has said that they will start a drive to stop illicit drug trade to safeguard the younger generation of the State.

SOREPA, in a statement signed by its secretary (publicity & organization) MC Yaiphabi, sought support from the people in their endeavour to root out the menace of drugs from the State .

Continuing that their aim is to stop all forms of illicit drug trade in Manipur, the outfit listed a number of people and asked them to appear before SOREPA on or before July 20 .

Appealing to these 50 individuals to appear before the outfit without fail, SOREPA said that there is no question of the outfit working on a communal line while carrying out the anti drug campaign.

Saying that the supply chain has to be cut to check widespread drug abuse, SOREPA appealed to the people to take part in checking drug abuse.

A drug mafia can ruin a society, the outfit cautioned and further appealed to the people to identify drug traders in their neighbourhoods so as to make Manipur a healthy society.
