CCpur, December 28 2015:
Even as the Chief Minister is set to inaugurate two 33/11 power sub-stations at Ankhasuo in Vangai Range and Sinzawl in Thanlon sub-divisions of Churachandpur district on Tuesday, several womenfolk responding to the JAC's boycott call of the said event today set up road blockades at several points along Guite Road and Tipaimukh to prevent Government officials from heading towards the venues.
The road blockades began early as womenfolk braved the winter morning chill amidst the mist.
Timbers and boulders were placed on the middle of the road while banners declaring 'Ministers and MLAs are not allowed in the hill areas of Manipur until and unless the three anti-tribal Bills are withdrawn' were put up across the highway.

Though it is not known if the blockades may have any impact on the Chief Minister's programme, it is however said that several of the district officials who are heading for the interior villages to be visited by the Chief Minister have been prevented from proceeding further by the womenfolk at several locations.
Many commoners who are trying to move in and out of the town have also been affected by the blockades as the womenfolk had blocked movement of all vehicles for hours.
Nonetheless it has been learnt that the JAC against 'anti-tribal Bills' will be holding talks with the Chief Minister later on Tuesday.
The talk, sources said, is to be held at Imphal on the Chief Minister's return from the inaugural events that he will be attending with many of his Cabinet Ministers in an Indian Air Force helicopter.
It may be recalled here that the non-burial of 9 'Tribal Martyrs' during the public unrest following the passing of the three Bills that are seen as anti-tribal on August 31 has greatly dampened the Christmas festive mood here.
With families of the nine 'Martyrs' mourning the deaths at the hospital mortuary for nearly 120 days including on Christmas, many Churches refrained from any form of celebrations for the year while others who have celebrated it chose to do so in a modest way.
