Governor arrives to inaugurate Shirui Lily fest

Ukhrul, May 19 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla arrived here on Monday, a day ahead of the state-level Shirui Lily festival, which he will inaugurate at Heritage Ground Vangayan in Shirui village on May 20.The Governor reached the 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Somsai, around 12:30 PM, from where he proceeded to Bakshi Ground, the venue for the ShiRock music festival, to oversee the preparations.

He then visited Longpi Kajui and Longpi Khullen villages, where he toured the workshop of Longpi black pottery run by local potter and Padma Shri awardee Machihan Sasa.

He was accompanied by the Governor's secretary, Sumant Singh, ADC to the Governor, Major Aditya Mahawal, and comptroller Motilal Singh.

Governor Bhalla will be staying overnight at the 10 Sector Assam Rifles and will return to Imphal on May 20 after inaugurating the five-day festival.
