Imphal, May 14 2025: Without directly naming any group, the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has taken strong exception to a viral social media notice threatening a particular community and restricting their movement during the Shirui Lily Festival.

A statement issued by TNL additional secretary Thanreingam Muivah asked the group responsible to withdraw the threat notice immediately.

"The decision taken in the Executive Council, TNL on May 14 directs you to recall the directive issued by TNL on May 9, 2023 that no individual/village should indulge in frisking/checking of any vehicle or passer-by within the jurisdiction of TNL," it said.

Saying that they emphatise with the victims of the ethnic clash, the TNL added that Tangkhul Nagas, however, will not side with anyone.

TNL stated that attempts to implicate Nagas, particularly Tangkhul Nagas, in the conflict should be shunned.
