Imphal, August 04: In yet another suspected case of child abduction, a 15-year old boy has been missing since yesterday even as the story of another child who has been missing since June was revealed to the press today.

All these developments have come about inspite of the stringent measures taken up by the police and the public decry over child abductions for recruitment as child soldiers by the proscribed PREPAK.

According to information received by the press, 15-year old Jangkhapao alias Jangpao Touthang s/o Lhungjang has been missing since yesterday.

Jangkhapao works as the chowkidar of the Chongthu Baptist Association Centre Church located at New Lambulane in Imphal East.

His whereabouts has not been known after he left for his Haokip Veng residence after the church service at around 9 pm yesterday.

As Jangpao, the fourth child of seven siblings, failed to return home, the family members contacted the Imphal East and Imphal West Police as well as the Commandos' complex at around 11 pm yesterday and search began.

However, a formal missing report and FIR was lodged by the Church pastor Paolenlal Singson with the Imphal East SP today morning.

Subsequently, Porompat Police have started searching for the missing boy.

According to the missing report, Jangpao is a student of class X studying in St John's School at New Lambulane and he is of stout built standing 5 feet.

He had worn a blue-black trouser and black T-shirt when last seen.

Youth chairman of the Church Helkhomang Touthang said that missing of Jangpao has come about even as discussions were being held to arrange his accommodation and fooding at the church.

On the other hand, another 12-year boy identified as Lairenlakpam Poireingamba alias Nanao s/o Ibochouba of Chingarel Tejpur of Imphal East District has been reportedly missing after he had gone out from home in the morning of June 15 last along with four other friends.

Rita Devi, mother of Poireingamba informed that no UG groups have contacted the family in connection with the missing of her son so far.

A day before he was to go missing, Poireingamba had gone along with his friends to attend a Lai Haraoba festival at Phaknung and returned home late, the mother recalled.

Eldest of five siblings of two sons and three daughters, Poireingamba studied till class VI in Central School, Lamphel and only this year he was admitted in class VII at South Point Higher Secondary School at Canchipur where he was putting up in boarding.

Since the night of his missing, the family members and the neighbours have searched for him at every possible places including Pungdongbam, Sekta and Nungoi, etc, but to no avail.

At long last, it was established that Poireingamba had gone along with one Laishram Onito s/o Ibo of the same locality who originally hailed from Nungoi and two others unknown boys.

However, the family members of Onito has alleged taken him elsewhere.

On July 28, a mising report has been filed with the police.

Meanwhile, in protest against child kidnapping cases, Meira Paibis and students of the area staged a Wakat Meepham at Chingarel Tejpur today.
