Imphal, June 13 2009:
Two bull-dozers used in levelling ground for construction of Andro police station at Ngariyan Hills in Imphal East district have been set ablaze by unidentified miscreants last night.
The gun wielding miscreants also threatened the labourers not to carry on with the police station construction work.
Two bull-dozers of D-50 and D-80 models parked atop the hills just opposite to the Ngariyan Forest Beat Office at Andro junction of Imphal-Yairipok road were set afire by unidentified armed persons at about 11.30 pm yesterday.

Engine section of both the dozers were seriously burnt and could not be retrieved at all.
A dozer of D-80 model costs around Rs one crore while a D-50 model costs around Rs 80 lakhs.
Both the dozers belonged to private individuals.
As the police station was in the initial stage of construction with even the ground levelling not yet completed, two labourers engaged in fencing work around the police station were holding nights in a tent near the spot of arson.
It is reported that the dozer operators put up at Angtha during night.
One labourer, Konjengbam Angou (50) of Nambol Leimapokpam said three unidentified armed persons came to their tent last night.
They took a mattress from the tent and soaked it with diesel.
They put the mattress inside the engines of the dozers and set it afire.
"We are also taken up to the spot where the dozers were kept." "The armed persons also told us to convey to the Mohori that the construction work should be stopped", Angou said.
Subsequent upon the arson and threat, all the labourers have left the place even as the Imphal East Additional SP inspected the site today.
Following registration of a case, Yairipok police have initiated investigation into the arson.
