Continuing with its tradition of felicitating outstanding achievers in the HSLC Exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, Catholic School Canchipur feted its students who secured positions in the first 25 .
Second position holder Pareeton Ningombam and four other position holders were feted during the 8th Incentive Award distribution function held under the aegis of the Catholic School Parents-Teachers Association.
The award distribution function was graced by Principal Fr Riji George, former Principal Fr Dr A Victor and president of the parents-teachers association, K Chaoba as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Riji George attributed the outstanding success of the school's students to the efforts of teachers, the Headmistress and the former Principal.
Addressing the HSLC passed-out students, the Principal said that they have just completed one phase of their educational career.
Observing that there is a long way ahead, Riji George exhorted the students to begin well and strive to be the best.
Former Principal Dr A Victor lamented that the top position has been evading the students of Catholic School for the past 26 years.
Saying that winning the second position was also a proud achievement, he advised the students to work harder so as to clinch the top spot in the coming
years.
Later, the parents-teachers association distributed prizes/awards to the position holders and class toppers of the school as well as teachers.
The transporters' welfare union of the school also presented several prizes.
