PHE Minister TN Haokip today laid the foundation stone for construction of two augmentation of water supply schemes to be taken up under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) at Tungjoy and Purul village of Senapati district.
TD Minister Thaisii presided over these functions.
After commissioning, the Water Supply scheme at Tungjoy is expected to take care of the problem of drinking water for 20,641 people in Tungjoy Khullen and Tungjoy Rikhubon till 2031 .
To be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 215.75 lakhs, the scheme is being targeted to be completed by 2011.On the other hand, the water supply scheme at Purul sub-divisional headquarters which is to be taken up in three units as Purul Atongba Unit, Purul Akutpa Unit and Koide Unit is expected to meet the drinking water requirement of four villages namely Purul Atongba, Purul Akutpa, Koide Mathak and Koide Makha.
The total estimated cost of the project is 502 lakhs and it is also being targeted to be completed in two years.
