Bishnupur, Jiribam & Senapati launch Poshan Pakhwada 2025

District Administration of Bishnupur, Jiribam & Senapati today launched Poshan Pakhwada-2025 as part of the Government of India's ongoing commitment to address malnutrition.
BISHNUPUR
Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram, today launched Poshan Pakhwada-2025 for Bishnupur District at Oinam Awang Leikai Public Hall, Oinam.
The event was jointly organized by District Administration Bishnupur and District ICDS Cell and will be celebrated from today, April 8 to April 22, 2025.This year's Poshan Pakhwada will emphasize four key themes: Focus on the First 1000 Days of Life, Popularization of the Ben-eficiary/Citizen Module of Poshan Tracker, Management of Malnutrition through CMAM, and Healthy Lifestyle to Address Obesity in Children.
In his address as chief guest, Lourembam Bikram emphasized the importance of organizing such events in villages and towns away from the district headquarters, as this helps raise awareness about the program's goals at the grassroots level.
He stressed the need for community-level awareness on the various themes of the 7th Edition of Poshan Pakhwada and highlighted the role of IT interventions, particularly the use of the Poshan tracker, for effective program implementation.
The DC also expressed concern over child obesity, noting that it has become a significant issue due to changes in lifestyle.
He urged for extensive awareness campaigns to address this problem and help shape a healthier future for children.
The event was also graced by Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr L Raichandra, ZEO Bishnupur Gunamani Devi, and DCPU Bishnupur Indrani Devi as dignitaries.
Child Development Project Officers(CDPOs), Supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and helpers also attended the event.
As part of the program, food baskets were distributed to pregnant women by the dignitaries to support their nutrition during pregnancy.
SENAPATI
The Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS today launched and flagged off the 7th Poshaan Pakhwada 2025 organised by DPO, ICDS Cell, Senapati at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley acknowledged and applauded the Anganwadi Workers and its supervisors as warriors for their efforts and further called upon them for more dedication in their services.
She said that mothers who are known for their care and nurture should also check on food consumption by their children.
She also said that a better Anganwadi centre's structure will be constructed under the Social Welfare department soon.
She informed that an inspection will be conducted soon at PHCs and Anganwadi centres.
She appealed to the Anganwadi workers to attend more like today's programme and training.
She also urged all the Anganwadi workers to maintain healthy hygiene and proper sanitation in their respective centres.
As part of the programme, the DC, Senapati flagged off the rally of Poshaan Pakhwada 2025 that begins from DRDA Office near Old DC Office Complex to Senapati Astro Turf ground with the display of various slogans on foods.
The programme was attended by District Level Officers, Senapati District Women Association and Anganwadi workers.
JIRIBAM
The Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Krishna Kumar also launched Poshan Pakhwada for Jiribam district today at the Conference Hall of DC Office Jiribam today.
The event held under the theme "Focus on First 1000 Days Of Life, Popularization of Beneficiary Module, Management of Malnutrition Through Implementation of CMAM Module, Healthy lifestyle to address Obesity in Children" was organised by District Administration Jiribam in collaboration with ICDS Project, Jiribam.
The event launch today will conclude on April 22.The event was also attended by ADC, SDC, DCPO, CDPO, Supervisor along with staff members and students of the district.
