Imphal, December 03 2024: L Amritgopal Singh (50) arrested for alleged involvement in vandalising properties at Chumthang Shannapung on November 16 has been released on bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West.

Amritgopal was arrested on December 2 and remanded to police custody till December 3.Amritgopal Singh is son of late L Gouramani Singh of Langthabal Phuramakhong.

He was arrested for violating curfew and allegedly destroying properties at the premises of Chumthang Shannapung on November 16 night.

He was arrested after Soraisam Gobin Singh, son of S Brajamani Singh of Heirangoithong Ningthemcha Karong, filed a complaint that on November 16, unknown persons trespassed into the premises of Chumthang Shannapung at around 8.11 pm and caused widespread damage to multiple properties inside the sports campus.
