Thoubal, March 19 2025: One man was killed while another sustained injury in a road mishap at Elangkhangpokpi under Waikhong police station in Kakching district during the Yaoshang Festival on March 15.The deceased has been identified as Naorem Tomthinganba @ Laingam (21) s/o N Muhindro of Samurou Oinam, Imphal West while the injured is Yendrenbam Muhindro (65), a resident of Elangkhangpokpi.

According to reports from the scene, Tomthinganba was riding a Yamaha R-15 bike towards Kakching Khunou while Muhindro was approaching on a Bajaj Pulsar, and they collided along the Indo Burma-Sugnu road at around 4.40 pm (March 15) .

Both individuals were rushed to Jivan Hospital in Kakching, but Tomthinganba was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors.
