Imphal, February 18: A one-day leadership training programme for women self help group (SHG) leaders was organised by Green Foundation, Imphal under the sponsorship of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Imphal at Kumbi Tera Kha in Moirang sub-division of Bishnupur district.

Councillor of Kumbi Nagar Panchayat Kh Amarjit Singh presided over the programme which was attended by Manager of NABARD Imphal MB Sarnaik and Senior Faculty member of ICM Imphal Dr KI Meetei as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

The programme was participated by 50 women SHG leaders of the area.

During the programme, Sarnaik spoke on many schemes of NABARD related to micro enterprise and urged the SHG leaders to initiate works for getting benefits of the said schemes.

Consultant Banikanta Soibam interpreted the speech of the Manager in Manipur.

Speaking on many techniques for getting cohesion of groups, Dr KI Meetei explained on the feasibility of micro enterprises by SHGs.

Project Officer of Green Foundation Bilkee Singh and Executive Officer (Microfinance) of Green Foundation L Chaoba Singh respectively spoke on the sustainability of SHG and management and account keeping of SHG.

Toward the end of the programme, an interaction session between the resource persons and the participants was facilitated.
