ANSAM rings in change of guard for new tenure

Senapati, January 31 2025:
The new executives of the All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) took charge today at its secretariat office building located at Senapati in a change of guard program.
Chief Election Commissioner, Pungdi P Celestine led a one minute silent prayer in honour of the departed souls of (Late) Tapan K Bose and MLA (Late) N Kayisii at the beginning of the program.
In her solidarity note, Ch Priscilla Thiumai, president, Naga Women's Union lauded the student body for their active roles and for the welfare of the students community.
While congratulating the new team, the NWU President encouraged the new team to soar higher in order to bring greater changes.
Incoming president, Th Angteshang Maring in his speech assured to maintain the continuity of the working spirit of the past ANSAM leaders who stated to work with a sincere heart, with integrity, understanding the cause of the Naga issue.
Outgoing President, Luikang Luckson in his farewell speech stated that he was filled with emotions, his sadness to leave from the association, gratitude for the opportunity he got to serve the student body in the capacity of its President and regret for the unfinished tasks that he could not accomplish during his time.
Vareiyo Shatsang, general secretary, UNC urged the incoming leaders to refocus on the core issues that affect the students, urging to work towards improving academic infrastructure and resources, enhancing students welfare and support services, fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and social responsibility and providing opportunities for skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Notably, 12 new office bearers were elected during the general election held on December 28, 2024 in which Th Anteshang Maring was elected the president, Issac Charenamei as general secretary,
Sochuingam as Information & Publicity Secretary.
