Thoubal, July 18 2017: All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) headquarters along with Senior MO Dr Rakibuddin of CHC, Haoreibi Makha Leikai and its staff organised a free medical camp at Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai police station under the supervision of CMO, Thoubal district today .

A press release issued by general secretary of the Committee stated that a total of 300 people participated in the camp and they were provided with medicines for free .

General secretary of AMMDC H/Q Seikh Atauddin said that medical camps have been conducted at six areas of Lilong AC by the Committee in collaboration Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai CHC and added that the camp will be conducted whenever necessary .

The Committee lauded the candidate running for Zilla Parishad of Turel Ahanbi Atoukhong, Oinam Swombung for providing vehicular assistance and for participating in the camp .

Meanwhile, Directorate of Ayush, Social Youth Progressive Organisation (SYPO), Nungei and Turen Ahanbi Atoukhong Gram Panchayat Pradhan Nasima Begum jointly organised a free medical camp at Nungei yesterday .

Directorate of Ayush has been conducting free medical camps at several flood hit areas of the State since July 4, reports our correspondent .

Speaking to media persons, SYPO president Md Idrish stated that people of Nungei have been facing flood from May 31, since the breakage of a portion of the Ningthibi Khong dam .

He stated that the people started to suffer from many diseases including Japanese Encephalitis as a result of the contaminated water which are flooding and clogging the area and added that the medical camp was held after a rigorous discussion with the Directorate of Ayush .

The State Government has provided very limited assistance and organised only two medical camps which is is unfortunate for the Nungei people, he added .

He urged the Government to distribute the necessary relief materials and to take up preventive measures like fumigating, disinfecting mosquito nets etc for the victims at the earliest .

The people of Nungei lauded the People Front of India (PFI) for distributing drinking water everyday .

Meanwhile, District Health Society, Thoubal along with 31 Thoubal BJP Mandal organised a free medical camp at Leishangthem Khong Manung, Thoubal AC yesterday .

Four medical officer of District Health Society and its staff attended to 400 people of the area were medicines were distributed free of cost.
