Army, AR organise medical camps

Imphal, July 18 2017:
Troops of N Khunou Battalion Sub Division organised a medical camp at Luwanglong Khunou village under the auspices of an officer of Army Medical Corps on July 16 .
According to a statement issued by the PIB, Defence, Imphal, a total of 120 villagers including 43 men, 55 women and 22 children from Luwanglong Khunou and neighbouring villages attended the medical camp .
Such medical camps will be organised in the rural areas more often in future and it shall be the endeavour of Army to provide medical facility to maximum population for whom it is herculean task to reach any hospital or health centre owing to the difficult terrain and ongoing heavy rain falls, it added .
At the same time, a free medical camp was organised by 39 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Wabagai Teraurak, Kakching district on July 16 .
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), the aim of medical camp was to provide free medical treatment to the needy local populace of the Kakching district at their door step.
The camp evoked an overwhelming response and large number of persons turned up for treatment .
A total of 246 patients (including 118 ladies, 83 children and 45 male patients) were rendered free medical aid during the camp including free medicines.
