BJP MLAs tune in for Govt formation

Imphal, May 14 2025: Eight MLAs of two separate camps have mutually arrived at an agreement to support any MLA other than N Biren Singh as the new CM for Government formation.

The agreement, between the two camps - one against N Biren and the other supporting N Biren - was arrived at a meeting between the MLAs at the residence of Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakishor this evening, said sources.

MLA Y Khemchand, MLA Kh Joykisan, MLA Dr Y Radheshyam, MLA S Rajen, MLA K Govindas, MLA Karam Shyam, MLA Kh Ibomcha and MLA Sapam Kunjakishor were present at the meeting.

The eight MLAs have agreed to support any Centre appointed person other than N Biren as the new CM, said sources.
