Nemcha Kipgen gives strict instruction to FPS agents

Kangpokpi, April 22 2020: Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen in a joint meeting with the FPS agents and civil bodies including village chiefs gave strict instruction to all FPS Agent in connection with the distribution of free rice under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and OMSS in the district.

The meeting chaired by Nemcha Kipgen, who is also the in-charge of Kangpokpi and Senapati in connection with the pandemic COVID-19, was attended by ADC Sadar Hills Chairman Haokholal Hangshing, CEO SHADC Kangpokpi, James Doujapao Haokip, District Supply Officer, Vahneilhing, SDO Kangpokpi Chunglenmang Kipgen and other officials, apart from Kangpokpi Town Committee and various village chiefs.

The Minister, while strictly cautioning the FPS agents in connection with the free rice distribution, said that 5 kg of rice per head will be distributed under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) to all cardholders and non-card holders across the district.

She said that the lifting and distribution of the free rice shall be conducted under the signatory of concerned SDOs, village chiefs/chairman, youth and women leaders and photos shall be sent to the concerned authority.

She instructed the FPS Agents to maintain transparency and sincerity in the lifting and distribution of the rice while cautioning that they (the FPS agents) should ensure that the concerned SDOs, chiefs/chairman, youth and women leaders are present at the time of lifting and distribution of the free rice.

Cautioning of taking up appropriate action if found anyone violating the guideline, the Minister said that she will not tolerate any discrepancies and complaint and for that matter, the FPS agents must act honestly and transparently while lifting and distributing the rice.

She also said that any agent found misusing or violating the guidelines shall be suspended immediately.

The Minister further said that in case of any shortage of rice, the FPS agents shall inform the concerned authority in a proper channel and she will not hesitate to buy more rice to ensure that everyone gets the benefits equally.

Meanwhile, ADC Sadar Hills Chairman, Haokholal Hangshing expressed sincere gratitude to the Minister-in-charge of Kangpokpi and Senapati for her active role and concerned for the people and exhorted the FPS agents to follow her instructions sincerely.

Accordingly, lifting of rice meant for Kangpokpi and Saitu had begun since yesterday from FCI Godown at Ningthoupham while handing over to the concerned FPS agents for distribution begin today at FCI godown Kangpokpi.

Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District, while appreciating the tireless efforts and commendable role played by Nemcha Kipgen in addressing the plights of the people at this critical juncture, directed all the FPS agents, village chiefs, youth and women leaders to follow the guidelines and instructions of the Minister accordingly at the time of distribution of the rice.

It also asked all the village chiefs to submit the lists of beneficiaries and distribution lists to the Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district.
