Imphal, February 18: A public meeting held today at Langol Phaipijang community hall has resolved not to accept any compensation provided by the Government in connection with the proposed construction of NIT at Lamphelpat.

The resolution was against the declaration to the Government to provide compensation to the affected families within February 29 .

The public was jointly organised by the JAC for Protection of Residential Areas and the JAC for Agricultural Land and Preservation of Lamphelpat.

The meeting further asked the Government to drop the plan of NIT construction at Lamphelpat and to revoke the order for land acquisition.

It further asked the demand committee allegedly constituted by 19 individuals in favour of locating NIT at Lamphelpat to give in to the two JACs within five days.
