Workshop on ''Good Governance'' held across State

As part of the nationwide campaign "Good Governance Week(GGW) - 'Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore', 2024, a workshop on Good Governance initiative was held held across the State today commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
BISHNUPUR
District Administration, Bishnupur today conducted a workshop on Good Governance initiative at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur featuring presentations on the selected best governance practices and initiatives from three sectors: Education, Health and Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM).
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Lourembam Bikram, highlighted various initiatives implemented in the district including the launch of the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) by the District Veterinary Office, which responds to distress calls from livestock owners via toll-free number 1962; the MSPDCL Bishnupur Division's success with prepaid meter installation and AB cabling of LT lines, leading to a significant increase in revenue collection.
The workshop was attended by ADM Bishnupur, SDOs, SDCs, DLOs, and other district officials.
As part of the campaign, Transgender Certificate Registration camp was held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, today organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur in connection with TWEET Foundation and Maruploi Foundation.
Altogether 50 transgenders were registered.
A cycle rally was also held yesterday at Moirang as part of the Good Governance Week, 2024 to promote a fit India.
THOUBAL
A workshop on Good Governance Week was also held today at the counting Hall of D.C office Complex, Thoubal.
The program was organised by District Administration Thoubal.
The workshop was attended by T Ranjit Singh, retd IAS as chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash Singh, IAS and Additional District Magistrate, Lokeshor Bramacharimayum, MCS as dais members.
Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash Singh, IAS said that the Good Governance Week was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
During the workshop, Powerpoint presentations were presented by the Health Department, Education Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal on the various developmental activities taken up by the departments in the District.
The program was also attended by SDOs, BDOs and DLOs of various departments.
KAKCHING
District Administration Kakching organised Good Governance Week - "Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore," under the supervision of Rohit Anand, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching at DC Office Complex, Kakching district.
Several government departments, such as Social Welfare, Consumer Affairs Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), Horticulture & Soil Conservation and administrative offices like BDO Kakching, SDC Hiyanglam and SDO Kakching opened service stalls for the public.
Financial institutions like the State Bank of India, Kakching branch and the Manipur State Cooperative Bank, Kakching branch also took part in the event.
The event was attended by Moirangthem Kapajit Singh, MCS, ADC/ADM, Kakching, Kherdananda Potshangbam, MCS, SDO Kakching, District Administration Officers and District Level Officers (DLOs) .
CHURACHANDPUR
A workshop on Good Governance Initiatives was also held at DC's Conference Hall, MiniSecretariat, Churachandpur where initiatives taken up by various departments were shared.
Speaking on the occasion, Dharun Kumar S, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur District, encouraged the district's, District-Level Officers/ Sub-Divisional Officers and other officers to be more proactive in disposing off public grievances promptly and easing governance.
All officers need to be fair and accountable while dealing with the public, he added.
TAMENGLONG
The District Administrative of Tamenglong also organized a Good Governance Day today at Tamenglong Higher Secondary School, commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The event, which has been celebrated annually since 2014, focused on the theme "Good Governance towards Tribal Areas" this year.
The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including D Meidinbui, MCS, SDO Tamenglong, Josiah Pamei, MPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong, Namthango Kamei, MCS, SDC Tamenglong, Abdul Mazeed Shah, SDC, Tamenglong, Christopher Abonpou, MES, ZEO, Dr G Majachunglu, CMO, along with other District Level Officers (DLOs) and the public.
Speaking on the occasion, D Meidinbui emphasized the importance of the week-long celebration, which featured various activities aimed at showcasing the Government's commitment to providing transparent, effective and accountable governance, particularly to the rural populace.
The event featured stalls from various departments, allowing the public to voice their grievances and receive information on services.
The Horticulture and Agriculture Departments also distributed vegetable seeds to the attendees at free of cost, further promoting community engagement and support.
