Protest rally continues against Waqf Amendment Act

Following the passage of Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025 in the Parliament, a massive protest rally was taken out today at Borayangbi under Kumbi Assembly constituency.
The rally held under the theme "We Reject the Trampling Bill To Defend The Constitution" was organised by Maqami Jamiatul Ulaama Borayangbi.
Thousands of people including Meira Paibis and CSOs of Borayangbi took part in the rally.
The rally commenced from Borayangbi Khun Machin, passed through Borayangbi Keithel, Borayangbi Khunjao Palli and culminated at Borayangbi Thongkhong.
During the protest, placards with inscription "Reject Waqf Bill", "Protect Muslim Rights", "Reject the Waqf Act 2025", "Defend the Constitution", "Waqf Act 2025, A threat to the Fundamental Rights", "Hands off Waqf," "Save Waqf, Save Constitution", "No More Land Grabs", " Save Waqf Land, Uphold Articles 14, 25 & 26", "India Against Waqf Bill", were held by the protesters and slogans like "BJP down down", "Narendra Modi, Amit Shah Murdabad", "We condemn Waqf Amendment Act", "Waqf is our property", etc were raised.
Speaking on the sideline of the protest, Borayangbi Youth Progressive Association, finance secretary Sayed Ali Aribam denounced the Bill as an attack on the Constitution.
Alleging the BJP Government of not upholding the values of democracy, he stated that the Bill violates Article 14, 24 & 26, which guarantees the right to freedom.
Saying that the Bill is against the interests of the people of India, he urged the Government to immediately withdraw the Bill.
