Imphal, January 07: Three persons travelling in a van were abducted by some unidentified persons from near Maram along NH 39 at about 6.30 last morning.

According to information received by press, the 3 persons were coming to Imphal from Dimapur.

The van in which they were travelling is blue in colour and bears registration number MN01K-9633.The van driver is identified as one Priyo (41) of Keishamthong Hodam Leirak.

The other two passengers are identified as T Rajendro (48) of Chingmeirong and Tomba of Hatta.

Some truck drivers reportedly informed the Kangpokpi police station that the van they were travelling in has been abandoned at a place in between Kangpokpi and Changoubung, about one and a half kilometre North of Kangpokpi police station at about 10 pm yesterday.

However, citing security reasons, police picked up the van only this morning.

On the other hand, no report has been filed on the abduction by any of the family members.
