Imphal, May 06 2025: Liberal College Students Union staged a sit-in protest in front of the College today urging the Government to introduce NEP 4th year undergraduate programs at the earliest.

The Union has threatened to launch democratic forms of agitation otherwise.

The protesting students wielded placards v/ith messages such as 'Save Students, Save College', 'Do not'ruin academic career of students' etc among others.

Speaking in this connection, Chingakham Rachi, magazine secretary, Liberal College Students Union said that as per NEP 2020 regulations, steps should be taken up to launch the 4th year undergraduate programs in colleges affiliated to Manipur University.

Saying that final examinations for 3rd year (6th semester) students are scheduled for June, Chingakham Rachi added that the Government has not initiated any steps to set up 4th year undergraduate programs, leaving students with no way to further pursue their academic career.
