MANPAC decries pitiable condition of Jiribam Hospital

Jiribam, September 04 2019: Members of Manipur People Against Cab (MANPAC) on way to Mizoram reportedly stopped at Jiribam and inspected the condition of 50-Bedded Jiribam District Hospital, Uchathol yesterday at around 6.30 pm during which members of MANPAC had interacted with the doctors of the hospital including CMO Dr M Okendra Singh.

The members were shocked to witness the pitiable condition of the hospital, which was opened few months back to provide efficient health services expecially emergency cases such as child delivery cases to the people of Jiribam.

Speaking to the media persons, one of the members of MANPAC Jitendra Ningomba said that few months back they were delighted to learn that a 50-Bedded Hospital was inaugurated at Jiribam.

On the contrary, they found the hospital running with only 10 beds even though it is 50-Bedded hospital, he added and said that the hospital needs lots of medical equipments including the specialist doctors to provide proper medical treatment to the patient.

He also pointed out the the hospital requires strong management team to run it efficiently.

Ph Devan Sharma, member Manpac said that the hospital is well built but due to lack of speicialist doctors, most of the people of Jiribam prefer to go to Assam for treatment of Gynaecological problem.

Other member of MANPAC, Th Somorendro echoed the same problem that the bed cover used in Jiribam hospital are very unhygienic and urged the concerned authority for immediate intervention so that the 50 Bedded Jiribam Hospital must have adequate Doctors, Nurses, staff, Specialist Doctors and Pharmacy.
