Awareness programme on mental health held

Imphal, April 08 2025:
The State Tele MANAS Cell, Manipur, in collaboration with 2nd-year MSc Nursing students from the College of Nursing, Medical Directorate, organized a one-day Mental Health Awareness Programme.
The initiative, under the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) and the State Health Society, was conducted at LI Standard English School, Icham Khunou, Charangpat targeting Class X students.
The session included valuable discussions led by Karishma, Clinical Psychologist at Tele MANAS, and Sangita, Psychiatric Nurse, who spoke on Mental Health and Academic Stress.
Joghabati, HOD of the College of Nursing (Psychiatry Department), delivered a session on Stress Management.
Rozy Maibam, Psychiatric Social Worker, along with counselors Linthoi Aribam and Addison, conducted an interactive activity to help students understand the importance of listening, speaking with care, and empathy�key elements when addressing mental health concerns.
Additionally, one-on-one counseling sessions were provided for students who wished to discuss their personal concerns in a safe and supportive space.
The event successfully highlighted the importance of mental well-being among adolescents and emphasized the need for continued support within educational settings.
