KVK Thoubal, Senapati celebrate golden jubilee

Thoubal/ Senapati, December 03 2024: As part of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) golden jubilee celebration which is celebrated across India, KVK Thoubal kicked off a week long "Krishi Swama Samridhi Week, 2024" celebration at its office located at Thoubal.

The event organised jointly by ICAR - ATARI, Zone VI, Umiam Meghalaya and KVK Thoubal was graced by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal.

Ahanthem Subash (IAS), Head Senior Scientist of KVK Thoubal DR Zeshmarani Sarangthem, Director of Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation.

K Debadutta Sharma and Commandant of 3rd IRB, Sarangthem Hemanta as presidium members.

As part of the week-long celebration a Kishan mela was also launched during the event where various farmers and government departments participated in the mela.

Farmers who win prizes in different categories were also facilitated during the event.

Later, various soil health cards, winter crop seeds, poultry feeds and pig feeds were also distributed to the farmers.

A leaflet produced by KVK Thoubal to prevent various diseases on plants and vegetables was also launched during the event.

Meanwhile KVK Senapati (farm science centre) also celebrated golden jubilee of KVKs Krishi Swama Samriddhi Week/technology week organised by Krishi Vighyan Kendra (KVK) Hengbung at KVK campus Hengbung today.

The golden jubilee celebration is celebrated across the nation in 731 KVKs.

Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari (IAS) in his address congratulated the KVK Hengbung for its consistency in performing with quality.

Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati in her address as guest of honour stated that collective effort will empower the agriculture sector and has appealed to the KVK and scientists to put more effort and create more innovation to reach out to the deserving people.

Kinjaneng Kipgen secretary, FEEDS in her address stated that various KVK established in various districts across the country including KVK Senapati has facilitated the rural masses in terms of agriculture technology and knowledge of agriculture when it comes to agriculture sector.

Hemant Kumar, IAS, Waichong SDO also attended the programme as special guest.

Later, the chief guest inaugurated a Kishan mela which was participated by different government departments, KVK Hengbung.
