Dy CM disapproves JCILPS' ban

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has stated that it would be wrong to take the law into one's hands.
Replying to a query raised by media persons on the ban imposed by JCILPS on entry of non-local people into the State, the Deputy Chief Minister stated "We should think about Manipuri people staying in different States of India" .
A fashion parade named | Royal Runway 2016 was held today at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai to mark the opening of a studio cum academy of fashion designer Robert Naorem.
Deputy Chief Minister | Gaikhangam attended the gathering as chief guest and Commerce and Industries | Minister K Govindas as president.
Minister I Hemochandra was also present at the gathering.With regard to the fresh Bill being drafted by the Government, Gaikhangam stated that there should be consensus among all stake holders including JCILPS on the Bill.
There would be no point in passing a Bill hurriedly if the same is rejected by the Government of India.
Enactment of a legislation needs thorough consideration of social, legal and Constitutional aspects.
Moreover, the Bill should be acceptable to both the hills and the valley, he asserted.
The Bill needs cooperation of one and all and its final draft would be placed in the public domain in time in order to take public opinions, Gaikhangam assured.
On account of the fashion parade, one side of Uripok-Kangchup road was blocked at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai since this morning which resulted in traffic jam.
The situation got worse in the evening and both sides of the road were blocked by a large number of people gathered for the fashion parade.
