Blood donation camps conducted

The 143 Battalion, CRPF, Lamphelpat, in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the RIMS Hospital OPDComplex today.
The camp was attended by Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Ravinder Sharma, Commandant, 143 Battalion CRPF; Dr Pratima Khoyumthem, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal; Dr A Barindra Sharma, Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal; and Dr Saikot Biswas, Chief Medical Officer, 143 Battalion CRPF, Lamphelpat.
A total of 40 CRPF personnel voluntarily donated blood, exemplifying their commitment to serving society beyond their professional duties.
The initiative aimed to address the critical need for blood in healthcare and emergency situations, reinforcing the significance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.
The event was conducted under the guidance of senior officials from CRPF and RIMS, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to medical protocols.
As a token of appreciation, certificates were presented to all donors in recognition of their generous contribution to the cause.
The Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, expressed its sincere gratitude to the CRPF personnel for their selfless act, emphasizing the essential role of voluntary blood donation in maintaining an adequate and safe blood supply for patients in need.
Meanwhile, Awadesh Kumar Shukla, an humanitarian activist from Madhya Pradesh has donated blood in support of the Free Blood For Children Scheme launched by Helping Hands for People (HHP), Manipur.
Awadesh Kumar donated blood at Blood Centre, JNIMS, Porompat on Wednesday, marking his 107th blood donation.
Apart from being an activist working for the welfare of the underprivileged children, Awadesh Kumar is also an official of the HQ 512 SS & TC of BRO.
HHP Manipur has conveyed its appreciation to Awadesh Kumar for his noble endeavour.
