Imphal, February 18: Security personnel held five UGs from different locations in the past two days.

Imphal East district commando held a PULF activist during a search operation conducted at Hatta Golapati area on February 16 .

The cadre was identified as Md Firoz alias Yaras (19) s/o Hamidali of Golapati Mayai Leikai.

He joined the PULF under army number 755 in 2007 .

The operation was conducted after getting a specific information, a statement said.

On the same day, a combined team of Imphal East commando and 32 Assam Rifles arrested another cadre from Kshetri Awang Leikai.

He was identified as Md Ataf ali alias Kora (20) s/ o Md Kadir of Urup Awang Leikai.

The team recovered one 9 mm pistol loaded with live rounds of ammunition from his possession.

He joined PULF in 2008 through one Md Faleir and now working under the command of S/S Army Chief Md Zakir of Mayang Imphal.

Imphal West District Police Commandos yesterday apprehended three underground activists, two belonging to PREPAK and the other to KCP (MC).

According to a statement issued by SP of Imphal West District Clay Khongsai today, the two PREPAK activists identified as Telem Kaiku alias Surjit (25) s/o T Bihari Singh and Moirangthem Nanao Singh (25) s/o late M Ibocha Singh of Lamshang Haorang Sabal were apprehended acting on credible information from their respective houses at around 2.10 am yesterday.

On preliminary interrogation, they disclosed that they were working under one Khongel of PREPAK and some senior members of the outfit are planning of bomb attack on security forces at specific areas from Iroisemba to Phayeng, the SP said, adding that one Hi-watt battery (transistor radio), one set of rechargeable R/C battery pack and one modified remote were seized from their possession.

The SP further informed that one KCP (MC) activist was also apprehended by the Imphal West District Police Commandos acting on credible information from near Krishna Premi Oil pump at Moirangkhom at around 4.55 pm yesterday.

Identifying the arrested KCP (MC) activist as Lourembam Suresh Singh alias Toto (27) s/o L Tomba Singh of Kakwa Lourembam Leikai, the SP informed that on preliminary interrogation, he disclosed that he was working under one Thambalngangbi Devi of KCP (MC).
