AMSU pulled up a teacher of Moreh College for allegedly duping six students with a false promise to make them appear in the class XII examination starting tomorrow.
Waikhom Brojen (40) s/o W Momon of Bashikhong Irong, who is a part time lecturer of the college was paraded before the media at a press conference conducted at the AMSU headquarters today.
He allegedly collected Rs 37, 650 from Mayanglambam Johnson of Mongsangei, Arambam Bishwanath of Singjamei, Nameirakpam Victoria of Bashikhong Bazar, Khundrakpam Sophia of Bashikhong Mamang Leikai, Dipu Aheibam of Porompat, and Kshetrimayum Romio of Porompat as form fill-up and admission charges.
The matter came to light when AMSU investigated it following complaints from the parents of these students, said AMSU secretary general T Premananda.
Colluding with principal Lunjapao, Brojen also took Rs 500 from each student with a promise to make them pass class XI without sitting in the examination, Premananda added.
As such persons may create a great hindrance in bringing quality education, he is punished with forced retirement from his service, Premananda informed the media.
Brojen paid back the amount to respective students in the presence of AMSU functionaries.
