Training programme on natural fanning concludes

A three days training programme on "Natural Farming" for State & District officials under National Mission on Natural Farming concluded today at the Collegeof Agriculture (COA), Iroisemba, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The training programme was organised by College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal under the National Mission on Natural Farming.
The valedictory function was graced by Dr LM Garnayak, Director of Research; Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction; Prof N Brajendra Singh, Department of GBP; Prof LK Mishra, chairman, Organising committee and Dr Mahadevaswamy, Expert, National Mission on Natural Farming, MANAGE, Hyderabad as presidium members.
During the three days, eight lectures were delivered by esteemed experts from MANAGE, Hyderabad, Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur and College of Agriculture, Iroisemba.
The training highlighted the principles of Natural Farming and science behind different practices, roles and responsibilities of State and District level officers, committees, etc; Initiation of NF in clusters; Roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders; Planning and designing the training, demonstrations, and field activities of NF in regular existing departmental programmes/activities, initiation of NF through crop production systems from land preparation to harvesting of major crops (NF package of practices); Understanding transition journey of farmers in NF, and support systems required to farmers.
The training programme was attended by 43 State-District officials at Centres of Natural Farming (CoNF) in the states of Manipur and Meghalaya.
