Zomi Nam Ni celebration to receive 'Star' touch

Lamka, February 18: The Zomi Nam Ni celebration this year will be a Star studded affair as four sensational stars of the Zo ethnic community; one from the land of clouds and the others from the land of Mautaam, landed in town today.

In a bid to give weight on the momentous celebration of the national day, the organizing committee is likely dolled out an additional five to six digit figure in expense solely on hosting the iconic stars of Zo brood.

Cultural, Sports and Mautaam Charity carnivals have already featured in recent days as part of the Nam Ni diamond jubilee celebration.

Besides, a musical video album has also marked a unique appearance this year with 'unity' as its underlying theme.

Hill Area Committee (HAC) Chairman MLA Thangminlien Kipgen and MLA T Hangkhanpao will grace the main day celebration on 20 February.

However, the most attractive event of the celebration will no doubt rest at the Miss Zomi Contest that will commence at 1700 hrs tomorrow and the Musical Nite that will follow the next day.

Twelve striking, young and brilliant girls will vie for the Miss title.

Legendary rock singer ZORock, eminent rapper Michael M Sailo and the record bending artiste Mami Varte and Lalmuanpui are the stars from outside that will rage the stage this year.
