Jiribam, May 16 2024: An interaction programme with social activist Rohan Philem was held today at Smart Society Hall, Jiribam Lamlen Leikai.

The interaction programme was jointly organised by LEECHING Jiri and World Meetei Council (WMC) Jiribam unit.

Consultative Committee, LEECHING Jiri Chairman, Th Kumbha Luwang and All Jiribam Meira Paibi (AJMP) president, S Sushila Devi graced as the president and guest of honour respectively The dignitaries while speaking at the occasion expressed the need of taking up adequate security measures to maintain peace and security in Jiribam district amid the prevailing conflict situation in the State.

Notably Jiribam has not witnessed any significant incident of violence ever since the outbreak of ethnic conflict in Manipur in May last year and has been a relatively peaceful region.

Addressing media persons in connection with the interaction programme, Rohan Philem said that he has been striving to promote the unification of the Meitei/Meetei diaspora staying in different places to collectively work for the development of the Meitei/Meetei community.
