Protest demands release of abducted youths

Imphal, March 15: With an earnest appeal to release Paochinglen Khongsai and Bramacharimayum Nanao without any condition, a protest sitting was staged today at Dingku Road here today.

Paochinglen Khongsai (18) s/o Seikholun of Laipham Khunou Khongsai Veng and Bramacharimayum Nanao (18) s/o Brajamani of Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai were abducted along with their NV Scooter (MNE/6571) by two unidentified armed persons who came on a scooter from near Green Park, Nagaram at about 3.30 pm of March 13. According to information received by press, Paochinglen is reading in class VIII at Don Bosco School, Chingmeirong.

While staying in his native village of Kamuching in Senapati district earlier, Paochinglen was away from home for sometime seeking to join a UG outfit.

Nanao is a student of a mission school located at Shillong.

He was preparing to appear matric exam (old course) this year.

Nanao was riding his father's scooter with Paochinglen to buy vegetables when they were abducted by the unidentified persons.

Appealing for safe release of the two on humanitarian ground even if they had committed some mistakes, the Social Development Club, Laipham Khunou Makha Leikai, in a press release, asked all concern to give the duo a chance to be corrected.
