State officials participate in 10th edition of IISF

State Secretary (Science & Technology), Hungyo Worshang, IAS and Dr L Minaketan Singh, Director, MASTEC participated as panelists in the 10th Edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) which concluded today at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.
The IISF is an initiative of the Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India organised in collaboration with other Central Government departments and began on November 30.Hungyo Worshang participated as a panelist in the session "Science Odyssey: Focused S&T for North East India" particularly addressing the potential and challenges faced by the people of Manipur and the need for growth and development of the State through Science & Technology (S&T) intervention.
Meanwhile, Dr L Minaketan Singh, Director, MASTEC participated as a panelist in the session "Media Conclave -Dissemination of Science & Technology (S&T) in media" sharing the strategies for enhancement of science coverage in media.
MASTEC, Imphal also took part in the "Science-Technology-Defence -Space Exhibition" showcasing its activities in the form of posters, banners, products, publications, science documentary and interaction with the visitors during the IISF 2024 .
Most of the State Science & Technology Councils across the country also took part in the "Science-Technology-Defence-Space Exhibition" showcasing their activities through a display of important S&T achievements.
It is worth mentioning that Keshav Mahanta, Minister for Science, Technology & Climate Change, Government of Assam and Dr N Kalaiselvi, Secretary, DSIR and DG, CSIR graced the valedictory function as chief guest and president.
Notably, the theme of IISF 2024 was "Transforming India into a Science &Technology driven Global Manufacturing Hub" .
The festival was held with a large number of events.
