"Education stimulates social and all round development in society"

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen today stated that education is one of the main factors that stimulate social and all-round development in society.
This was expressed by the Minister while addressing the gatherings as chief guest on the occasion of silver jubilee celebration of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Leimata at L Gelmol Village, Henglep, Churachandpur.
During the occasion, Nemcha urged the KSO, Leimata to spearhead the youths towards the path of education as educating today's youth will further develop the society at large in the long run.
Citing the examples of many famous sports personalities of Manipur, she stressed the importance of sports for the youths to maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
She also encouraged the women to execute their talents and take part in Nation building.
Highlighting the State Government programmes like Go to Village and Go to Hills, the Minister encouraged the CSOs/students' bodies to give awareness about the various government schemes and programmes to the people residing at remote and far-flung areas.
Asserting that the Government is continuously striving for inclusive development for all the people, she appealed all not to opt for any forms of illegal activities like opium cultivation or poppy plantation.
As part of the celebration, the Minister unveiled the jubilee monolith to mark the occasion.
Chairman, Hill Area Committee (HAC), T Thangjalam Haokip, MDC, Khousabung, Seilenmang Khongsai and MDC, Leimata, Thangboi Haokip also attended the function.
