Imphal, April 19 2019:
BJP Agent for 2/26 Polling Station of Heingang has clarified that there were no untoward incidents in any way at the Polling Station during yesterday's poll.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the BJP Agent Sanoujam Liven said that the BJP workers and agents of 2/26 Heingang Polling Stations strongly condemn the reportedly false and baseless allegations made by MPCC spokesperson Hareshwor Goswami during a TV programme at Impact TV yesterday.
Stating that the MPCC spokesperson's demand for a repoll of the Polling Station is unreasonable, the BJP Agent reasoned that if there were any unethical practice at the Polling Stations, then a repoll would be welcomed.
However, the poll was conducted peacefully at the Polling Stations and no untoward incident of any kind occurred, he claimed.
All Agents of BJP, MPP, CPI, INC were present at the Polling Station yesterday.
The poll was stopped for around an hour after the VVPAT developed some problems.
However, the poll resumed as per the election rules and the poll concluded at 7 pm, he said, adding that out of the 1113 total voters, around 1045 came to cast their votes.
It is highly condemnable for the MPCC spokesperson to make such baseless allegations, he added.
On the other hand, 2/23 Heingang Polling Station executive member T Shanta has also condemned the alleged lies and concocted story of the MPCC spokesperson during the TV programme.
