Stressing the need for harmony among the people of different communities for marching the state towards development, state education minister, L Jayentakumar today exhorted for imparting excellent education to the students.
Speaking as chief guest at an award distribution function to the students of Wangkhei Assembly constituency meritorious in the HSLC 2010, Jayentakumar said imparting good moral and discipline is the way for imparting good education to the student.
When the moral of the people degraded, the society will setback.
The olden time discipline of the forefather need to be taught by today's generation, he said observing that parents, guardians would want their children to become a worthy pillar of the future society.
Former professor of Manipur University, prof K Sharatchandra who attended as guest of honour lauded the wills of the students who passed in exams with distinction when their study is always disturbed by bandh and strike.
As students, hard working and patience is a must to succeed in life.
The function was presided over by state information commissioner, retired Ch Birendra.
