Manipur State Commission for Women interacts with IDPs and DLOs

Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in coordination with District Administration Thoubal held a camp sitting today at the Conference Hall, DC Thoubal Office Complex to assess the living condition of IDPs and conflict related victims.
In the interaction meeting, W Phajatombi Devi, member secretary of MSCW, said that Manipur State Commission for Women was established as a statutory body at the State level to safeguard the interest of women and to look into the women related issues.
She said that the present living status of the IDPs in different relief camps is of great concern and the IDPs, especially women, are facing lots of problems.
She also urged the departments to maintain the needs of the IDPs in every possible way.
Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, chairperson MSCW chaired the meeting.
The Chairperson of the MSCW expressed happiness as the District Administration is trying its best to help the needs of the IDPs.
She also urged the departments to organise awareness programmes for the women living in different relief camps in the district.
During the camp Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, A Subhash Singh (IAS) said that the District Administration Thoubal in coordination with the various related departments is monitoring the needs of the IDPs of the different relief camps in the district.
He said that the Skill development training was given to the inmates from time to time to sustain their livelihood.
In the interaction meeting, members of MSWC, ADM Thoubal B Lokeshor Sharma, SDO Thoubal, CMO, ZEO Thoubal, Executive Engineer, PHED Thoubal, District Social Welfare Officer Thoubal, District Programme Officer (DPO) Thoubal, representatives of IDPs and different NGOs in Thoubal District participated the interaction camp.
