MANPAC reaches out to CSOs of NE States

A team of Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill (MANPAC) went and met the leaders and workers of various CSOs of the North East region in connection with the North East People's Conference to be held next month.
Speaking to media persons at JCILPS office at Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai today, MANPAC convenor Yumnamcha Dilipkumar said that the CSO leaders and volunteers have agreed to hold the North East People's Conference in Imphal from April 1 to 3.He said that the conference is meant to provide a common platform for the North East region and as such MANPAC has already approached the CSOs concerned to ensure the success of the conference.
Issues ranging from CAB to the sectarian policies and attitude shown towards the people of the North East region by the Central Government, will be discussed during the three days conference, Dilipkumar added.
He continued that he, along with 11 other members of MANPAC went on a North East trip from February 27 and the team met members of All Assam Manipuri Youth Association.
On February 28, the team met Tripura Students' Federation, Tripura People's Front, NEIIMCO and ST community representatives at Tripura.
On March 21, the MANPAC team met JAC Agartala, IMPC and IMPT etc, he added.
Dilipkumar conveyed that the team also held a meeting with Central Young Mizo Association at Aizawl during which the said association lauded the steps taken up by MANPAC against CAB.
The MANPAC team also met Zo Re-Unification Organisation and Mizo Zirlai Pawl.
On March 5, the team interacted with members of Jaintia Students Union as well as Congregation of Meghalaya Social Organisations.
A meeting was also held at Guwahati with Committee of Tribal Organisations of Assam, Indigenous People's Forum of Assam, Assam Jatitya Badi Yuv Parishad as well as members of CSOs from Meghalaya and Mizoram.
MANPAC also met Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum, United Arunachalis Indigenous Peoples Forum, All NGOs Coordination Committee at Itanagar.
The team then went to Tawang and met representatives of Monpa Students Union.
Yesterday, MANPAC met members of Nagaland Tribe Council and Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Migrants at Kohima, Dilipkumar added.
