Imphal, October 15 2010:
An intensive field study tour along NH 53 (from Imphal to Jiribam) to Tipaimukh via Fulator of Silchar by rafting the upstream of Barak river will be undertaken under the joint aegis of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Manipur Chapter in collaboration with Department of Forest, Wild Life Wing and Environment and Ecology Wing, Government of Manipur.
The field study and research will cover Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Chandel and Tamenglong districts of Manipur.
The objective and main thrust of the field study tour is on the listing and documentation of natural heritage of Manipur and habitat study of the State bird Nongin.
The programme which is being technically supported by IBCN and INTACH New Delhi would commence from October 20, conveyed a press release.
