Imphal, August 12 2011:
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has appealed to all the members of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council to review their decision of tendering resignation over the demand for upgradation of Sadar hills to a full-fledged district.
Speaking at the inaugural of a week-long State level Seva Dal Organisers' training camp at Congress Bhavan here today, the Chief Minister observed that Manipur is home to many communities, and so, the Government cannot think about or work in the interest of just one community.
To avoid hurting the sentiments of other communities, there is also the need for collective understanding and consultation among all the communities for solving any problem.
Taking this fact into consideration, the ADC members should review their decision of resigning.
The Chief Minister informed that efforts are being made to bring back all the goods laden trucks which have remained stranded in between Mao and Senapati to Imphal among with adequate security cover.
As the Jessami-Ukhrul road is single-lane and there is the risk of plying along this route on account of inclement weather, the Government is making the arrangement of escorting all the trucks stranded outside the State through Imphal-Jiri road, the Chief Minister added.
Stating that all the members of Seva Dal are people with discipline and integrity, Chief Minister O Ibobi noted that although no benefits have been ever extended from the side of the party and the Government, the Seva Dal members in Manipur are most discipline of all in the North East States.
MPCC president Gaikhangam, other Ministers, MLAs, and PCC members were also present at the occasion.
