Security teams patrol Kwatha, distribute medicines

Imphal, December 01 2023:
Joint teams of state forces and Assam Rifles are carrying out area domination patrol in Indo-Myanmar border areas in Tengnoupal district since the last few days.
The patrols are carried out under the supervision of Tengnoupal additional SP (Ops) Chamna Anal, 5th IRB CO Balram, 6th IRB CO Shankar Deba, special commando SP Krishnatombi, and 5 Assam Rifles' major Abhimanyu and captain Tripathi Gaikwad.
The joint team carried out patrolling in different border villages including Chavangphai, Jangnoi, B Bongjang, Kwatha Khunou, S Kananphai and Kwatha Khunjao among others.
Locals of Kwatha Khunjao welcomed the security teams stating that it is the first time state security forces reached the village since the ethnic conflict broke out on May 3 .
Residents of Kwatha Khunou are also staying at Kwatha Khunjao as the situation remains tense.
On the other hand, 3 Assam Rifles, Khudengthabi post provided five cartons of life saving drugs to Kwatha Khunjao.
ASP Ts Chamna Anal also informed the media that 139 battalion BSF along with the staff of PHSC Kwatha Khunjao would be organising free medical camp on Saturday at the health centre.
