Imphal, January 08 2021: Manipur State Kala Akademi condoled the demise of eminent Manipuri scholar and historian Rajkumar Jhalajit Singh by observing two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Rajkumar Jhalajit Singh was a culturally renowned personality who was at the forefront of the cultural and literary movement of the State for decades.

He was a Padmashree awardee and was also honoured with the second highest honour of the Akademi, Manipur State Kala Akademi Fellow (2011) .

Manipur State Kala Akademi and its entire staff extended condolences to the bereaved family and stated that his demise has created a vacuum in the vast realm of Manipuri culture and literature.
