CM vows action against oil tanker attackers

Chief minister N Biren Singh has confided that his government has started taking action to nab the armed miscreants who attacked the oil tankers travelling along Imphal-Jiribam route (NH-37) .
Responding to queries from reporters during a programme held at Thambal Shanglen of BJP Manipur Pradesh at Nityaipat Chuthek, here, on Wednesday, CM Biren said that operation is being conducted to round up the culprits involved in attacking the transport fuel and LPG carriers on Tuesday.
The government will give an exact reply to the attackers, making it clear to all that such barbaric acts will neither be tolerated along the national highways nor in any part of the state.
While affirming government's commitment to maintaining law and order, he called those involved in the attack as terrorists' along with stating that search operations are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Mention may be made that armed persons, suspected to be Kuki militants, opened fire on a convoy of vehicles transporting fuel and LPG near Tolen Kuki village in Tamenglong district on April 16, perforating at least five vehicles, including an LPG carrier (bullet tanker) and leaving two vehicle operators injured.
