ABDWJU imposes restriction

Bishnupur, February 29 2024: The All Bishnupur District Working Journalist Union (ABDWJU) has imposed a restriction on covering any programmes organised by the United Meitei Pangal Committee Manipur, Forum for Restoration of Peace Manipur (FRPM), All Kwakta Co-ordinating Committee, Meitei Pangal Intellectual Forum, All Meitei Pangal Youth Association and Jamiat Ulema Bishnupur in Bishnupur district.

According to a statement issued by Ahongshangbam Kishankumar Singh, general secretary, ABDWJU, the Union resolved to refrain from providing media coverage to programmes organised by the aforementioned six organisations during a special emergency meeting.

The statement has informed that the prohibition will be in effect until Assistant Professor Md Rafizuddin Shah alias Sanjoy from Kwakta tenders an apology to AMWJU and ABDWJU.

The Union has also appealed to media persons from all media houses in the State to avoid covering the events organised by the above organisations in Bishnupur district in addition to the restriction on publishing/broadcasting news items related to the six organisations.
