State celebrates 77th Independence Day : Ukhrul / Thoubal

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated today with full fervour at Thoubal District Headquarters.

The main function was held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Thoubal.

Addressing the gathering, DC Thoubal Ahanthem Subhash Singh highlighted the achievements and contributions of various departments in the district and stated that development activities by the State Government are also reflected in the district.

Ukhrul

The Ukhrul District Administration also organised the Independence Day at Bakshi Ground.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Zuringla Kengoo, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul said, 'We are reminded of the 200 year long British Rule of India from which the country gained her independence through the selfless sacrifice of thousands of brave Patriots who fought for freedom' .

The Administration handed out appreciation certificates to 78 employees from various departments for their relentless services rendered.
